MAIN MENU HELP
What is an Overlay?
An overlay is a list of events arranged chronologically by date. When you
select an overlay to be printed with a calendar, Calendar Creator searches
that overlay for all events falling in the range of dates you are printing.
It then automatically annotates the calendar with those events. By grouping
related events into their own overlays, you can print calendars that are
specific to different activities, projects, and schedules. This makes it
easy, for example, to keep your business milestones separate from your
personal schedule.
Using the Main Menu - 1
Make a selection Type the number of your menu selection, and then press
Enter or F10. (See the next screen for selections.)
F2 Instructions Displays the Calendar Creator on-line instructions.

CREATE OVERLAY HELP
What is an Overlay?
An overlay is a list of events arranged chronologically by date. When you
select an overlay to be printed with a calendar, Calendar Creator searches
that overlay for all events falling in the range of dates you specify. It
then automatically adds those events to the calendar during printing.
By grouping related events into their own overlays, you can print calendars
that are specific to different activities, projects, and schedules. This
makes it easy, for example, to keep your business milestones separate from
your bowling league schedule.
Creating an Overlay
To create a new overlay, type its title in the space provided, and then
press F10. Calendar Creator then adds an empty overlay (one without events
in it) to the list and takes you to the Edit Overlay screen. There, you can
begin adding events to the overlay.

SAVE OVERLAY GROUP HELP
Why Save an Overlay Group?
When you work with Calendar Creator, often several people need access to
certain calendar overlays--but not all overlays. The Save Overlay Group
option lets you assemble and save a group of overlays as a single DOS file.
This facilitates distribution, at the same time making it easy to exclude
personal overlays and overlays not relevant to a given activity.
How to Save an Overlay Group
Select the overlays you want to save as a DOS file: Use the arrow keys to
move the highlight bar to each overlay you want, and then press the space
bar to select it. Small arrows appear next to each overlay you select. (To
exclude an overlay you have already selected, move the highlight bar to that
overlay and press the space bar again to "deselect" it.)
At the Directory or Filename prompt, type the drive identifier, the path (if
needed), and the filename for the file to be saved. To list existing files,
type only the drive identifier and path (for example, B:).
<< NEXT PAGE >>
GET OVERLAY GROUP HELP
How to Get an Overlay Group
Type the drive identifier, path (if needed), and filename of an overlay
group at the Name of File to Get prompt, and then press Enter. (You must
previously have saved this file to disk using the Save Overlay Group
function.) To see a directory listing of files, type only the drive
identifier and path (for example, B:).
When you get an overlay group, Calendar Creator loads a DOS file that
contains one or more overlays. As this file is loaded, it is broken up into
its separate overlays, which are then added one by one to your overlay list.
When the name of an overlay to be loaded duplicates the name of an overlay
already on the list, Calendar Creator lets you either skip over the new
overlay or load it. If you elect to load it, you can do so using a new name
(thus preserving the overlay already on the list) or use the original name
and overwrite the existing overlay.
Note: When you select Get Overlay Group, a list of the files in the working
directory appears. Files named __CALEND.xxx are internal to Calendar
Creator and should be ignored.
